history Most of the Breaking Benjamin members are from northeast Pennsylvania, Scranton and Wilkes-Barre and Chad is from Cincinnati, Ohio. Their music is often classed as alternative rock; or post-grunge. In 1998, Ben and Aaron along with Nick Hoover and Chris Lightcap they started Breaking Benjamin. Ben left the band to go to California to try new material and the other guys went to play for other bands. Then Mark came back to Breaking Benjamin to play the bass. Later on, Aaron came back with Breaking Benjamin. The band got its name when Ben threw his microphone into the crow, breaking it. Ben is 6’4’’, he has his tongue pierced, and also has tattoos of the Autobot and Decepticon in both middle fingers. He has few health problems that won’t go away and he has been sober for more than 3 years. In 2006, Ben had lung disease and they tried to make up for the tour but ir wasn’t possible. They signed with Hollywood Records label in 1988. Breaking Benjamin’s former members were Jeremy Hummel 1998-2004, on the drums; Jonathan “Bug” Price 1998-2001 Jon played on bass guitar; and who Vaught 2005, BC did a fill-in stint. Breaking Benjamin is on tour with Nickelback and Shinedown.
